General Laser Cutting and UV Printing FAQ

What products do you offer?

We specialise in custom laser-cut and engraved products including address signs, business signage, personalised gifts, and UV-printed items. Many of our products can be fully customised to suit your style.

Can I customise my order?

Yes. Most of our products are made to order, so you can customise names, numbers, fonts, and sometimes materials.

For custom orders that require a completely new design, a design fee of $25 per hour applies.

We also charge a $60 quote fee, which includes a custom design concept and dimensions. This fee is deducted from your final order total if you choose to proceed.

This process ensures we can accurately plan and create a design tailored to your needs.

What materials can I cut and engrave?

We primarily work with acrylic, timber, and leather.

We can also work with a range of other materials, including:

  • ABS
  • PP/PE (cut only)
  • MDF
  • Foamboard
  • Core-flute (cut only)
  • Foam
  • Fibreglass
  • Rubber
  • Cardboard
  • Paper (cut only)
  • Fabric

Important: We do not cut metal. We offer limited engraving on coated mild and stainless steel only.

If you are unsure whether your material is suitable, feel free to get in touch and we will be happy to help.

Are products in Stock?

Most of our products are made to order. As a small business, we keep limited stock on hand.

While we usually have a range of colours available, some materials may need to be ordered depending on your selection. This ensures each item is custom-made to suit your order.

Do you offer bulk or business orders?

Yes, we do. We can create signage and custom products for businesses, events, and bulk orders. Get in touch to discuss your requirements.

What is Laser Cutting?

A stress-free way to cut and/or engrave flat sheets of material precisely! The laser beam is directed through a nozzle to the workpiece. The laser then either etches, scores or cuts through the material.

What’s the difference between laser cutting, etching and scoring?

Cut – The laser machine will cut completely through the material.

Etching/Engraving – This is where the laser uses a lower power setting, which allows the material to make markings on the surface without cutting through the material completely. This is a lot more time consuming than scoring and cutting.

Scoring – This is where materials are marked with a shallow score line.

Will the material get burnt?

Depending on the material, yes it can leave a slight burn mark especially around the edges and sometimes it can’t be avoided. We can apply an adhesive tape for a small fee; although it’s not guaranteed total prevention. You could also give it a light sand to remove the burn marks or wipe it down with a soft cloth with a tiny bit of water.

Laser Cutting and UV Printing Design Setup FAQ

Are there size restrictions for my laser cutting file?

Our bed size is 900mm x 600mm, so it’s best to keep the design no bigger than 895mm x 595mm. Ideally, we suggest leaving around 2-3mm from the edge of your vector file. For large etched designs we need to allow room for the the machine to swing from side to side so approx. no bigger than 780mmx590mm.

Having said that our machine does have pass-through capabilities so there are certain long projects that we can do with our machine. Although some of our material is smaller than our laser cutting bed size. If your project is larger than our bed size the please request for a quote.

Can you engrave or print on items I already own?

You sure can, we offer BYO engraving and UV printing for items like bottles, mugs, and Yeti products. Items must be suitable for the process (e.g. coated for engraving).

For timber products, if possible we will just ask if you can supply us a scrap piece, so we can ensure our setting ar correct.

What happens if I don't have a Vector of my logo?

Don’t worry, we can convert most logos to a vector for $25. We just ask that you give us a high quality image and the font name for your logo if possible. For very detailed colourful logo, we can use our UV printer to get your logo as accurate as possible.

What if I made a mistake on my order?

Please contact us as soon as possible. If production has not started, we can usually update your order. Once production begins, changes may not be possible.
